Hurricane Richard approaches coast of Belize (AP)

Hurricane Alex downgraded to Category 1 storm (AP)

This satellite image provided by NOAA shows Hurricane Alex as it comes ashore on a relatively unpopulated stretch of coast in Mexico's northern Tamaulipas state about 110 miles south of Brownsville Texas Wednesday June 30, 2010. Alex is moving west near 10 mph maximun sustained winds are near 100 mph with higher gusts. Steady weakening is expected as the hurricane moves over land according to forecasters.
