Syria wants Turkey to mediate talks with Israel (AP)

Syria wants Turkey to mediate its indirect peace talks with Israel and any other efforts would be subordinate to the Turkish role. Ankara mediated several rounds of indirect negotiations between the Mideast rivals in 2008 but the talks made no significant headway and were suspended following Israel's military offensive in Gaza the following year.
