@abacab987 where did you get this information from? What I would like to know is who is the whodunit that put the scorpions in the Mach 5 & in the Black TIger? I think that Speed Racer is the best racer hands down: Geaux Speed Racer Geaux! Wow! I’ve never seen Speed Racer kill a scorpion with his helmet, geez! And also Kim killing the scorpion with his foot. Hey check out the camel turning into fruit at 9:54! Now THAT’S funny!

this show was on when batman, bozo and the beatles were all the rage in 1966. the contemporary was “kimba the white lion”. other japanese shows were “marineboy”, “ultraman”, “the fantastic three”, and “gigantor”. each with its original name and dialogue replaced. I think the real name of speed racer is “Go Mifune” which is why there is a “G” on his coat and an “M” on the hood of the car. The original title was “Mach-Go-Go-Go”.The word “go” in japanese means “five”, thus the name of the car.
Worst animated show ever… can’t stop watching…
man i love speed, i can still watch him all day. i miss being little and watching it on Cartoon Network in the early 90s. I never knew untill a few years ago tht this was made in the late 60’s. The animation is unbelieveable for its time. And whoever thought of and desgined the Mach 5 is a genuis. it was a dream car for me when i was little and still is now! Go Speed Racer!
I grew up to speed racer. I am so glad i can re-live what i missed when i was a kid
