When majoring in International Relations and Chinese, what do you exactly learn in both fields?
When majoring in Chinese, you learn the language and its history, but that’s all I know. What else do I learn? Same for International Relations/Business. Also which careers can you choose when majoring in these fields?

International relations will look at international politics, current events and the culture and history of various regions. Usually you specialize in one region of the world, say Asia or South and Central America. Possible career directions would be business (including international business and banking), foreign diplomacy, law, tourism, and government work in various areas, including defense, government security, and research and analysis on various topics.

I think there are no definite answers. College is supposed to stream students into different fields to prepare for providing work force for capitalist society. In reality, except for professional fields, graduates from all kinds of background are considered the same qualification. If you decide to major in Chinese, you will learn about the language, history, elite’s mindset and value. You can be a chinese subject teacher, editor, writer or even work for a chinese company.
If you study international relations, you shall be interested in politics and history. With this background, you may work for the embassy.
